Not sure that helps, but I was having D2R crashes pretty often until I disabled XMP. right click on your Nvidia settings on the task bar > Nvidia Control Panel > 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings > Power Management Mode > Prefer Maximum Performance. OTOH, my living room older HTPC box with a 950 GTX and XMP enabled runs my 2nd D2R account just fine with no issues, although at minimum settings, maybe if I tried to go as high as possible it would also be unstable? I just personally assume D2R is poorly optimized (given how hard it hits GPUs unless you set FPS limits - and if you do load times inexplicably increase).

Since then D2R has been stable, and while I'm technically running the ram slower then it can run, having upgraded from a 2009 self-built machine it's still faster then I what I was using. On a whim I disabled XMP since it was reminiscent of an issue I had on my older computer and it was basically the only thing the crash dumps were even vaguely hinting at (even though I'm pretty sure the ram isn't faulty). However I then got severe crashes while running D2R that twice completely crashed the system forcing reboots.
